Getting started

What is StockStay?

StockStay is a stock tracking tool for short-term rental hosts. You add your properties and the consumables you want to track (soap, paper towels, coffee pods, etc.), share a checklist link with your cleaner, and get an email alert the moment anything runs low or runs out.

Do I need to download an app?

No. StockStay runs entirely in the browser. Your cleaners also don't need to download anything — they open your checklist link on their phone and tap through the items.

How does the free trial work?

You get 7 days free with full access to all features on your chosen plan. Your card is not charged until the trial ends. You can cancel any time before then with no charge.

Which plan should I choose?

Solo ($19/mo) is great for 1–2 properties. Host ($39/mo) covers up to 10 properties and is the most popular. Manager ($79/mo) is for unlimited properties with team access.

Cleaner checklists

How does the cleaner checklist work?

Each property gets a unique link you share with your cleaner. They open it, tap Full / Low / Out for each item, optionally leave a note, and hit Submit. You get an email instantly if anything is Low or Out.

Does my cleaner need to create an account?

No. The checklist link works without any login or signup. Just send them the link and they're ready to go.

What if I change cleaners?

Go to your property settings and regenerate the checklist link. The old link immediately stops working, and you can share the new one with your new cleaner.

Can multiple cleaners use the same link?

Yes. Multiple people can use the same link — each submission is logged separately with the cleaner's name if they provide one.

Alerts & notifications

How do restock alerts work?

When a cleaner submits a checklist with any items marked Low or Out, you receive an email listing exactly what needs restocking, with Amazon search links for each item.

Can I get push notifications instead of email?

Yes — StockStay supports free push notifications via the ntfy app (iOS and Android). Set it up in Settings → Push Notifications. It's instant and free.

Can I add Amazon product links to items?

Yes. In your property's item list, you can add an Amazon ASIN (product ID) to any item. When that item is reported low or out, the alert email includes a direct link to reorder it on Amazon.

Billing & account

Can I cancel any time?

Yes, cancel any time from Settings → Billing. You keep access until the end of the billing period. We don't charge cancellation fees.

Do you offer refunds?

We don't offer refunds for partial months, but since every plan starts with a 7-day free trial, you can fully evaluate StockStay before being charged.

Can I upgrade or downgrade my plan?

Yes. Go to Settings → Billing → Manage Subscription. Changes take effect immediately and are prorated.

Is my payment information secure?

All payments are handled by Stripe, a PCI-compliant payment processor. StockStay never sees or stores your card details.

Privacy & data

Who can see my property data?

Only you (and team members you invite). Cleaners with your checklist link can submit stock reports but cannot see your full dashboard, history, or other properties.

Can I export my data?

Yes. Contact us at support@stock-stay.app and we'll export all your property and checklist data.

What happens to my data if I cancel?

Your data is retained for 30 days after cancellation in case you want to reactivate. After 30 days it is permanently deleted.
